Math Picture Solver

Upload a clear photo of a math question and ask for a step-by-step explanation.

How to solve a math problem from a photo

Use the Upload button above to add a photo of a printed or handwritten question. Include the whole equation, any diagram, and the units. Then ask for the steps or ask the solver to explain a particular part of your work.

For a readable image

  1. Place the page on a flat surface and keep the full question in frame.
  2. Use good light and avoid glare, shadows, or blurry handwriting.
  3. If a page has several exercises, crop to the one you want help with.
  4. Check that the solver read each symbol correctly before trusting the answer.

Example of a question in a photo

If your image shows 2x + 3 = 11, subtract 3 from both sides to get 2x = 8, then divide by 2. The result is x = 4. Substituting back gives 2(4) + 3 = 11.

You can ask the solver why the same operation is applied to both sides, or upload your own attempted steps for review.

When a photo is hard to read

A missing minus sign, exponent, or fraction bar can change the problem. Type the expression into the chat if the image is unclear, and check important calculations yourself.
